Oleg Grigorievich Smeshko

Oleg Grigorievich Smeshko — doctor of Economics, rector of Saint-Petersburg University of Management Technologies and Economics.

BIOGRAPHY

Born on the 17th of July 1966 in  v. Lyulentsy, Kalinovskiy district, Vinnitskaya oblast.

Since 1983 to 2006 served in the armed forces of the Russian Federation occupying different positions. In 1987 graduated Leningrad higher military and political air defense training school named after Y.V. Andropov (Military and political specialty, qualification: “Teacher of History and Social studies”. In 1997 graduated the Military academy of logistic support systems and  transport in Saint-Petersburg (specialty “Command and staff operational and tactical activities in support areas”, qualification: “An officer with higher military education, organizer of material and technical supply”).

On the 28th of June 2000 received the degree of the candidate of science in Economics. In 2007 received associate professor title at the chair of Management of Saint-Petersburg University of Management Technologies and Economics. Working at the university, Oleg Smeshko occupied the following positions: deputy head of  the chair of Management and Public Administration at the faculty of Management (since 27.11.2006); deputy vice-rector for higher education – head of the department for educational and methodological activities, licensing, accreditation and quality assurance (since 01.09.2010); vice-rector for academic and methodological affairs and braches (since 01.12.2012); vice-rector for academic affairs (since 16.09.2013).

Since the 16th of June 2014 Oleg Smeshko has been working as a rector of Saint-Petersburg University of Management Technologies and Economics. In March 2015 defended doctoral degree dissertation “Regional economic development factors: application assessment and management policy”. Oleg Smeshko is the author of more than 70 scientific publications, including 9 monographs, 17 books and learning and teaching materials.
